    TARDIS Kilt

Just posting up the link here. The BBC was hunting at Comic-Con and found a Tardis kilt. Picture number 9 is the one to look for.

I don't think it is a tartan though.

    Thanks,

    Thanks,
    I hoped for so much.
It doesn't even look like a kilt.

And here I thought a Tardis kilt would be "bigger inside than on the outside" and hence solve all those pesky closet-shrinkage issues!

Nice looking fabric but differs from warp to weft so no, not a tartan to the best of my understanding.

Hard to tell but it might be another case of a "pleats go in the back" fail

Ahh... very funny; the pleats are in the front! If the kilt police catch him and put him in jail would he then be a "Comic Con"?

Simon Fraser fought as MacShimidh, a Highland chief… wrapped and belted in a plaid over the top of his linen shirt, like his ordinary kinsmen. He put a bonnet on his head, and stuck the Fraser emblem, a sprig of yew, in it. With the battle cry, A'Chaisteal Dhunaidh and the scream of the pipes, they charged to battle. I have considered going kilted to a couple of cons with my wife, but I fear getting kilt-checked. I normally attend in my 13thC parade armor and get people touching the armor to see if it's real. On more than a few occasions though, the hands check the wrong areas for authenticity. So I have reservations about kilting at cons.

Yeah, I was chastised a bit on Facebook for pointing out the pleats all way round thing, for calling it "less of a kilt, more of a lifestyle choice" etc...
Since we have Sylvester McCoy coming to Space City Con next week I'm sure we will see a lot of Doctor Who themed costuming, maybe even some kilts, I'm sure looking forward to it!

Since I go kilted everywhere, I never gave much 'consideration' to being kilted at the 3 or 4 cons I attend or work every year. Not saying it doesn't happen, but I don't recall having been kilt checked at a con... I can say that even with all the fancy costumes around, the kilt still gets you a fair amount of the good kind of attention.
Plus, if I wore trousers half my friends wouldn't recognize me!

My last trip to Comic Con was kilted with a TOS Star Trek engineering (red) shirt. Never got kilt checked but had lots of fun being asked for a photograph.

    Zardoz:

Hey, is that a "Fifth Element" costume? And where are you in the picture?
