Which waistcoat to complement a lovat green argyll jacket?

    Evening Rabble,

Today I was a successful eBay bidder on a Lovat Green tweed argyll jacket. The pictures looked ok and I might have grabbed a bargain. Anyway, I fancy a waistcoat to go with it on occasion and am not going to attempt to match the jacket cloth, so I am thinking of something to complement it. Velvet? Moleskin? Any ideas?
    Steve.

A muted red, or a mustard are good 'country' colours.

Velvet might be a bit too up market for a tweed jacket.

Mate I agree with Chas a muted red or burgundy would go well. I have one in moleskin made to measure by Janet Steward for a ridiculously low price of £35 I think. Am wearing it in the Rumney folk festival pics.

Just checked and it's £27.50 for you skinny chaps.

I think a burgundy coloured waistcoat goes fine with a lovat green jacket. but I am bias

This one is from the Gentlemens Emporium and is made of wool. I have also been known to wear a olive green doeskin waistcoat with my lovat green jacket.

Good tip on the Janet Steward website chaps; I will certainly have to have a look at that in more detail.

You won't go wrong Lime, I have 3 of her moleskin waistcoats, burgundy, gold and light green. All made to measure and all lovely.

I pair my lovat green tweed jacket with a tweed waistcoat in a darker shade of green or else in charcoal.
