    SWK taxonomy?

I see that Stillwater has gone and monkeyed with the order of the universe by offering an economy in wool. Can someone tell me the differences between the SWK economy and the SWK wool heavyweight, other than about 55 bucks? Anybody got the wool economy?

    Thanks

If you are talking about the Economy Wool in Black Watch there is a difference. Though the same weight wool as the heavyweight wool kilts, just less cloth. I belive the heavyweight is an 8 yard kilt where the economy wool is around 5. I have two of the economy wool Black Watch and a heavy weight Saffron. They are great kilts for the money. I have worn one of the Black Watch as a daily walking kilt, hiking kilt, travel in car kilt, sit around the fire kilt... you get the idea. About a year of that I washed it and pressed it and it still looks great.

Im sure if you emailed SWK they would give you full details but in my experience the Economy Wool Black Watch is a very good kilt.

I purchased one of the Economy Kilts some time ago as I needed a knockabout for a particular occasion. They are not pleated as per a Black watch MoD kilt but rather the A&S pleating (but knife pleats). As brewerpaul stated they are about 5 yards and great kilts for the money and I am well pleased with mine.

I also have one of these and love it. The only minor negative are the economy straps which I will soon upgrade.
