    No "edit post" option

    Hello everyone.
I was posting in the "Show us images of you favorite kilt maker's work". I went to edit after a refresh and can no longer edit, as the "edit post" option doesn't appear. Could very well be me, something I'm missing. But thought I'd give you a shout.

Thanks for any assistance and Slainte,
    Domehead

Steve, I just discovered how frustrating this can be in the For Sale forum. Is that a restriction that could be removed, depending on the forum for the purpose of editing For Sale posts rather than PMing mods and such?

I realize it would likely need some discussion. Just a thought.

    Plus One to the OP.

I used to be able to edit posts without a time limit. Now, there isn't an option to edit posts on my end. Yes, I am aware of the 10 minute time limit. This wasn't a restriction for me before. Only recently.

Not a complaint. Just an observation.

I'm sorry Bren, that is simply not true.

The 10 min limit to edit a post has been exactly the same for over four years.

Just to add explanation to what Steve has written. The time limit is there to stop early posts from being altered after significant and lengthy discussion based on the original content of the post. In the past the result of the late edit was that subsequent posts often made no sense whatsoever.

I agree with you Bren, just checked one of my posts from 13 September 13 and I originally posted at 6.23pm and edited at 9.40am the next morning. There is also a post by Steve in the cooling off corner that he made 4.06pm 8 Sept 13 and edited at 6.08pm the same day.
    All times are AEST

There is no criticism here but I thought I was going crazy as I know that I have edited my posts well after 10 minutes, in the past. If you require any more examples Steve, I am more than willing to research the forum for examples

Just read Rex's post and if it is a new thing then disregard my comments.

Just a new edit to test the new settings, thanks Steve.

I uphold that the time limit setting has not been changed. It has been 10 min right along with all the other time limits in that part of the software. 10 min is the default setting I think.

I'm not saying that glitches have not happened. They happen all the time. It may be that the settings for the staff are different. I can't answer that. It would make sense as a spammer that has been denied access to the forum has different settings. They cannot post and their time limit is 0.

It is possible that something changed during a software update. It is possible that the time limit was not recognized or something else. I simply know that I have not changed anything.
