    Troy

I just saw the film, I recommend it. One of the best parts, aside from the fighting, was that there wasn't a pair of trousers in sight. At the premier in Berlin, Brad Pitt, who play Achilles said "men will be wearing skirts by next summer. This is my prediction and proclamation." (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/entertainment/3699037.stm). Wider acceptance of our cause, including by a superstar like Pitt, can't do anything but help.

Just something I didn't know if ya'll had heard yet, so I thought I'd tell you.

    Peace,
    ~Queue

Well like I have said before, I dont care about men wearing skirts. Now if he wants to don a real man's garment tell him to call Bear. Then maybe I will get excited.

Thanks for the recommendation, I'm not sure whether I'll see the film, I do like ancient historical films.
I heard there was nudity in it, that put me off going, certainly with the kids.

I may wait till it's out on DVD

I know a few people have said that they have gone to see Troy, but no one has given us their review of the film. How was it?

    I enjoyed Troy very much.
I tend to like the movies that are trying to re-capture the magic that was "Braveheart." (Movies like "The Last Samurai," "Gladiator," "The Patriot.")
Yes, the movie took some liberties with the material. What movie doesn't?
Yes, the battle sequences were better in films like the LOTR trilogy.
However, Troy had some great lines in it and was quite entertaining. It is definitely worth seeing. It may not be on par with the other movies I mentioned, but it is still good.

I should like to see "Troy" on the big screen but, living "in the sticks" means that my nearest cinema is some distance away, one has to pre-book a seat there and, anyway I'm told they have no plans to screen this one!!!

I may have to go up to London one afternoon and see it there (at some vastly inflated ticket price no doubt, being the West End!), but I could wear my brown imitation leather kilt. That would be appropriate, I'd think, especially if worn casually!

I've just seen troy and it was ok, I enjoyed the spectacle of it but the acting was a bit grim. Having said that, what do I know, I thought Braveheart was rubbish. Absolute twaddle. No wonder the English tried to exterminate the Scots if they ran round squawking about freedom all the time.
Maybe it's the Hollywood treatment of the history I don't like, but whilst I find them mildly entertaining I can't rave about them.

I agree Rhino, it seems that they (Hollywood) skimmed over years of interaction that the book mentioned and put it into what appears to be a few days. No wonder that people get so confused.

I just wish movies especially big budget spectaculars would follow the book!
