An International Collaboration
A good number of months ago I was asked to be part of a very special project-
To remake (with some alterations) an original 1896 silver mounted sporran.
The cantle was crafted in Scotland,
shipped to Canada for engraving,
then posted to me to make and mount the bag, as well as size, braze, and fix all the silver accents.
The result of this particular collaboration can be seen below.

The original (which I have on hand to generate templates from) is fairly worn, the colour of the new bag somewhat approximates the original as it currently looks,
although from peeking through the various nooks and crannies I can see that the 'template' bag was originally much lighter, possibly even undyed pigskin, and has 'caramelized' over the last century or so
to it's current colour.
In case anyone was curious, here's a quick hint about the level of attention to detail which was required:

11 special templates and three pages of dimensional notes.

Great to see true craftsmanship lives on still. Not that I expect any less from Scott from what I've seen on here.
I'd love to that sporran!

Beautiful, Scott, just beautiful.
Maybe one day, if I win the lottery, I will be able to afford to commission one of your "Rolls Royces".
Thanks for sharing this.
