    Has anyone seen this?

I've been on the web looking for Argyle jackets and I came across the following site which shows low prices on kilts. Has anyone purchased or done any business with them?

    http://www.scotlandshopdirect.com/ac..._19_99_40.html

    Thanks,

    RLJ-

Never saw that before, but I'd be hesitant to buy a kilt for 35 USD.

I think these are a tourist shop on the mile and if so I've seen these kilts in the flesh. They're suitable for stag nights and fancy dress, thats about it. I might be wrong but I think the price says it all.

    Will I buy one? Let's do the math(in Canadian$):

    Kilt $50
    Shipping $ 7
    Custom / Tax $20
    Alterraion(well I am short) $20

    The Grand Total is $97

I can buy a Bear Kilt for $120

Looks a bit "skirty" to me, you get what you pay for in kilts.
I do like the "Proud Of Scotland" tartan tho'.

Like you Graham I like the Proud Of Scotland, but I tend to be a litle 'shy on the purse' when I haven't seen something in person or get information from someone that I trust.

    Just courious about info.

Graham, I don't know if you are making a joke about the site giving the wrong name for the tartan, or if you are just saying that you like the tartan that you see on the site.

Just in case that was the first time you've seen it and you might want to buy one from another kiltmaker, the site actually gives the tartan the wrong name. The tartan is actually called Pride of Scotland.

Having the wrong names for tartans might also be a clue as to the "quality" of these kilts.

From the pictures they look ok...(like a real kilt)...At those low prices, the risk involved is quite minimal. Just don't harbor great expectations that it will have the cherished characteristics of the genuine article. But then again, the product may just be quite good for the Buck$.

Call me cautious, but I would like to agree with everyone else. Unless I had more information on the kilts, and the quality buying over the net seems a bit chancey. Now if some you who are going to Scotland or who are already there check them out, that might be a different story. The old term of let the buyer beware keeps echoing in my mind.
