Hello from Alabama
Hi, my name is Phillip and I'm from around Birmingham Alabama. I am sort of split down the middle so to speak as heritage goes, my mother's side is Irish and my father's is Scottish. I've known about my mom's heritage for many years and never knew about my father's ancestry until two years ago, they never spoke of where we came from and now that I'm older (48) my dad and grandparents have passed on. I found out through ancestry research our line immigrated from Scotland. I have always liked the kilt and have been at many Celtic festivals and parades where pipers played (my daughter is an Irish dancer). I just recently purchased my first kilt from UTKilts just before Christmas (Black Watch tartan) but I haven't worn it publicly yet. I plan to wear it to Burns Night this Saturday night. I would not mind wearing it more often it is very comfortable but it is also still very cold outside.
