The men of Clanranald
So I thought I'd share this with the Rabble. This video was shot at my brother Cory's wedding in 2011. I was in the wedding party and also did double duty as the band. Although my father has five sons, it's rare for all of us to be in the same room. In fact, as far as we could all determine, this was only the second time it ever happened.
Anyway, this video was shot at the end of what was a very fun party. As you can see from our relative states of disarray, this post is not a "how-to" guide for Highland black tie. This was, however, a fun opportunity to get us all up on stage and sing a classic Nova Scotia sea shanty together. The audio is somewhat distorted, but the energy and fun comes across. Enjoy.

I'm the one singing the lead and playing the bodhran. My brother X is to my right in the red hose. Today is his birthday, incidentally. He is xman here on xmarks.

Nathan, you really started off my day this morning. First the chili pipers and then your sea shanty. What better way to have your first cuppa at 5:15 AM. Feeling on top o' the world right now, Thanks

Nathan, that's a classic! No doubt, streams of whisky had been flowing before you all took to the stage.
And... xman!

Stan Rogers always makes me smile. Brings a tear to my eye, too. I was fortunate enough to see him several time in Ann Arbor and I caught one of his very last performances in D.C. that sad spring in '83.
Bravo! Do you do White Collar Holler?
