    Unusual PC Jacket...

    Folks,

Perhaps some of you have seen this before, but I simply have not and wanted to share. Have any of you come across this type of combo (black lapel facings, black epaulettes)?

The pics of this PC aren't exactly true to the garment's color; in person, it is a darker, richer green, and the lapel facings are a deep black, nor do they appear at all as "wrinkled". I'm also not familiar with the fabric so if anyone can educate me there, that'd be great too!

It fits and is on hold for me.

I know nothing about the jacket, but Chisholms are one of Scotlands premier kilt makers and I can personally speak highly of their workmanship. It looks like a bespoke jacket and the black facing might well be silk.

I forgot to mention it has a waistcoat as well. The entire ensemble is under $100, which I didn't believe at first. It's made quite well and fit perfectly. I am paid tonight so was going to pick it up over the weekend, as I was quite taken by it and knew I'd regret letting it go.

It looks to be some kind of gabardine or twill- possibly "cavalry twill" also known as "elastique". If so, it is probably well made indeed. A little steam- as in hanging it in your bathroom when you take a shower- will probably help those wrinkles. Looks like a great deal to me.

There was a time when tuxedos, or dinner suits, were either Midnight Blue or Black. All the lapels were black, regardless of the suit colour.

Cool looking jacket - was this at a brick and mortar store in Sarasota and did they have other kilt related things? I may have to go on a little field trip...but not to swipe your find! I'll find something else...

My guess would be it's a bespoke garment with black silk lapels and matching epaulets.
It looks like a nice find. Congratulations.
