Why...Oh Why?????
I bought a new pair of shoes today...is it strange that my first thought upon completion of the sale I realized that now I need a new sporran...the shoes are brown and all of my sporrans are black. Does any one else have these thoughts.

While a brown sporran would be nice with those shoes, I see nothing wrong with wearing a black sporran with brown shoes. In this example I think it work as the shoes are suede.

Happens all the time, be it shoes, bonnet, sporran or kilt. It's the "I need something to go with this" syndrome.

You can wear a black belt and sporran with those shoes - no problem. Those look comfy. I dig desert boots.

I have two sporrans that are black and currently wear a pair of brown boots when kilted. Matching the sporran to footwear has never been a consideration.

I am definitely not traditional when wearing my kilt (as you can see), but from the general jist I gathered from reading posts on various threads on XMTS, not matching is actually the best thing. However, it is all down to personal style choice.

Ah - beware beware - recently the weather has been very warm, so I decided that I would once again wear a - well - OK it's a sporran, but I wear it on my left hip, and I used to have a matching sporran and a quiver to the right side for carrying drumsticks and a recorder for when I was doing drumming and morris things. That is morris dancing - traditional English stuff...
So I looked for a suitable bag, found a blue one, so I made a few alterations - turned the bow into an extra pocket with fastener, great - so then I found the old blue kilt and remade it - to wear with the new blue sporran - looked out a few blue tee shirts and then thought that a blue hat might be a good idea, so I am working on that now.
One thing just seems to lead to another....
