Found a local cleaner
Found out the dry cleaners I have been using for the last two years cleans and presses at least a dozen kilts a month. Showed me one they had one on the rack waiting to be picked up. Nice work. I know where I'm taking my kilts now.

A nice surprise.
Cleaners, who understand how to clean a kilt, are a rare animal.

I would imagine there must be someplace closer than Prescott that does kilts.

I'm sure there is, but Prescott is such a nice little town that I don't mind visiting every now and then.
Actually, I may be travelling up there periodically to help a new highland throwing group with their training. Have you ever considered trying out the sport, ChromeScholar? I know they are looking for new recruits, and they are a great group of people.

I would would happily drive 3.5 hours to find a proper cleaner that did kilts. After seeing some poorly done examples (like box pleats being flattened into knife pleats!!), I am especially leary of any cleaner that may touch my kilt. In fact, I have yet to find one since moving to RI.

Whenever I move to a new city, I simply ask the local kilt hire shop where they send their kilts to be cleaned. Simple.

Yes, they are. Precisely the reason why I have never taken any of my kilts to the dry cleaners (and probably never will). All I do is give them a simple pressing as needed.

Very nice if you have a "local kilt hire shop." You do live in Canada's largest city, Nathan.
