My wife just said "I want something Scottishy to wear too!"
Well, Honey, I believe I can get behind that sentiment.
We've come a long way from rolling her eyes whenever I would mention wanting a kilt through actually finally getting mine in December to now she wants Buchanan tartan stuff too. And I couldn't possibly be happier!
Since we joined the St Andrews society a few weeks ago and she's seen that there are social events (everything from pub nights to concerts and parades and such) now she's keen to have some stuff to wear that lets her feel a part of the goings on.
Of course, I take that to mean I can get more stuff too lol.

How about a pair of these for the good lady? Actually it is quite rare for Mrs Jock to wear tartan trews when I am wearing the kilt in the same place at the same time.

It is all ways awesome for your wife to want to be a part of what you do .
She made this apron her self , as she wanted to look the part ,and I love it and thank God for my wonderful wife .
so I am glad your wife wants to be apart of your kilt wearing too

I'd suggest a tartan sash or perhaps a stole.

That's a great looking apron! I noticed on Alexis Malcolm's site she makes some pretty nifty dresses and panchos (called something else though) things at pretty reasonable prices (considering nobody here can sew........yet).
Jock, you two look great there - your tartan is pretty great too - I've shown her the trews but I'm not sure she's as into that as should would be a dress...but she'll need stuff for more than one level of dress I'm sure - I think she's mostly concerned that the Buchanan modern of my kilt might be pretty loud for pants - lol - which I hope for because THAT means I can have her look at some weathered and reproduction Buchanans that might make much better trews - and that is great because

THAT means I'd need something to match. ;-)
I don't mind being matchy matchy with my wife.

I got my wife on board by getting her involved also. First I got her a kilted skirt from Scotweb.
then got us both matching casual kilts from USAk.

Other options are shawls or sashes in a tartan. I got my wife one of each from USA Kilts.

Back in college I was always attending (or performing at) Scottish-themed events, many of them semi-formal or formal evening events, and my then-girlfriend wanted something that looked the part.
Being the thrift-shop/charity shop people we were (poor college students) we quickly found a lovely made-in-Scotland-out-of-real-tartan floorlength skirt, fancy lace blouse, and velvet vest which fit her perfectly. She was stunning! (Being 6 foot tall, and half Cherokee and half Irish, and a marathon runner, didn't hurt!)
