    Fabric Store Fan

Put on my Auld Scotland box pleat and Aran sweater to go out for brunch with Mrs 'of-Cedars' on our 37th wedding anniversary.
After a very economical (Senior's Day 2-for-1) meal at the IHOP, we walked next door to the fabric store for some Lovat Green thread.
On walking in, one of the staff (young lady with tattoos) loudly proclaimed "Ooo, I love Scotsmen!", another older staff member immediately responded with "Don't bite the customers!"

Now that sounds like a fun place to visit. The employees do not take themselves too seriously it would seem.

Reminds me of an incident in a great fabric store in Atlanta some years ago. The place was very crowded, being inexpensive and popular. My wife and I were there with our good friends James and Linda. We saw some wool tartan, and that prompted James to exclaim: "oh! I just got a letter the other day...I've been accepted into my clan!" This being the south, the word "clan" can sometimes be taken for a quite different type organization. As the whole store stopped, and turned to give us the glare of doom, James belatedly added: "Scottish clan....", and everyone nodded and went back to shopping. Close one.....
