I regret to have to inform whoever might be responsible, but the tartan shown (on that special webpage) as "Gunn", is not Gunn at all!

Gunn is my Clan tartan and I have two variations of it amongst my kilts - Ancient Colours and Weathered Colours. The sett of the tartan illustrated is quite different.

    Take care,
Ham. (who is just trying to be helpful!)

It appears to me to be Gunn #708. At least according to

    http://www.house-of-tartan.scotland....se/tfinder.htm

The contrast on the photo could be better.

Unless the well-known tartan mill in the UK is wrong, it is infact Gunn. That mill has too good of a reputation to do anything else.

It's like that Cameron tartan search. I know USAKilts has A Cameron tartan... that's one out of how many?

NO WONDER there's so many kilt makers that only deal in the daggum solids!

OK Guys, I confess to having slipped up on this one! I can only think I was misled by the size of the sett in the example as compared to my actual kilts.

It hit me this morning, as I reached for my seldom used Clan tie (a smaller sett and in modern colours) to wear with my blue kilt suit whilst on duty at Petworth House for the National Trust.

    My abject apologies to all.

Hamish, your still a class act and a true idol in the Kilting world. I aspire to reach your level of kilt knowledge and true expression of class.

I am also proud to have the Johnson's as a sept of the Gunn Clan.

    Thank you

    Ham,

I am going to agree with Richard, when I think of kilts and class I think of you. What an inspiration to the rest of us!

I placed the picture I drew of Hamish over my sewing table, just for company. (The pic is the one that came with us on the Virtual Global Hamish Pub Crawl.)
I even ask Little Ham for advise sometimes. I always get the right answer, though in the form of a question, "which way would make a better kilt?"

At least I'm not talking to myself. That would be crazy.
