"It's for special occasions only..."For anyone in

The other day, I came across this excellent quote from the website,
    http://www.kilts.co.nz/mitcgklt.htm
which I think reflects the naked truth about kilts.

..."There is a lot of hype and some snobbish dictates about how, when and where kilts can be worn, and by whom. The fact is, anyone can wear a kilt, anywhere, at anytime, in any way. As horribly or as magnificently as they feel. It is simply an article of clothing, generally expensive (at least when new, and when in good condition), durable, and fashionable for all times and places. It was worn by poor highlanders with hardly a thread to their name, and by wealthy landed gentry or aristocracy. To-day times are different, but there is still the option to wear a kilt as you can afford it and in accordance with normal dress sensibility suitable for the occasion."...

It couldn't be said more plainly than that. This clearly speaks to those harboring a degree of apprehension about breaking the (nonexistant) "special occasions only" rule. I hope the quote is useful for those up against a bit of resistance.

That's pretty much the way I wear kilts, as I see fit at any given time. I treat it as clothing not as an icon.

Before I found this site. I to was one of these "I'll keep it for best" types. On seeing what you lot get up to, and are doing everyday in your kilts I can only say one thing I'm green with envy (Oh that was 4 things.)

Since then has I have told you with earlier postings, I've begun to use the kilt in casual mode.I'm working(Should read, waiting) on some pictures. When my new Bear kilt (Hunting Mclean)comes in August I'll be in the kilt even more. Thanks to Ham's advice I've ordered a sporran strap from Hector Russel. (Which should be comming next week).

Also My mate has bitten the bullet ,and also ordered a Bear kilt (Hunter tartan). So we're going to be two.
There are pictures in the local paper of weddings all the time.A few have kilts.Golf is also getting big here so some club's have improted "Pro's" from for example Scotland. There has been pictures in the paper of that as well.

Since going kilted I hear all the time that people have seen others. So I'm not the only one. Maybe I should start thinking of a kilted get together you never know who might turn up at these thing's .

My word how I wonder off topic. It must be the need to get so much off my chest after a week at work.

As regards to Spalling I've never been any goed .I use a dictionary at the pc A LOT.

If it's punctuation you want I'll leave these at the bottom here for you to spread around as you think fit.
