Help Needed Rotating Pictures

Is it possible to rotate your pictures somehow? My pictures are just fine on my computer, but when I post them here, they're sideways. How can I fix this?

Hi,

To give more than just general help, it would be good to know what operating system you use (for most people, that means what version of Windows), what camera/phone you are using, and what method you are using to post photos to this site (direct upload, hosting on Flickr, Photobucket, etc).

As general help, firstly the rotation information is held as exif metadata as part of the photograph file-

Sometimes it messes up or is mis-interpreted, or is badly coded so that it complies with some systems but not with others.

As far as a practical method of sorting it, I'd try downloading and installing GIMP, which is a free and open source piece of software rather like Photoshop. If you already have Photoshop, great, use that.

In GIMP, you can rotate the image and re-save it the right way round. You do that by selecting "File -> Export" and choosing an option.

Without answers to the questions above I can't really be any more specific than that.
