    Simply Scotland Shop

From reviews on trustpilot.com, it would appear that this company may have gone out of business or otherwise disappeared. Just came across it by accident, I have never bought or ordered anything from them so have no personal experience of them. It does appear as if the website is still taking orders although the helpline is offline.

If you are going to do it, do it in a kilt!

Probably the same person You get what you pay for, a kilt package for under £50 won't be great... funny seeing people take this 'company' to the Small Claims court because their £17 'kilt' has not been delivered

Maybe my English is not good enough but I can not see what is the funny part of this.
    Please explain.

It is funny perhaps because it will probably cost the claimants more than £17 to go to court?

Actually, the small claims court was set up for precisely these, well, small claims! It's more of an arbitration session than a court with solicitors and barristers. Both sides agree to be bound by the decision and the costs are extremely low - one of the better ideas set up by the UK legal profession.

Your English is better than my Finnish, the joke is that these items were of such poor quality, the buyers should have thought 'if something's too good to be true, it usually is'.. even a first time kilt buyer
would have passed more established companies such as Scotweb or even Heritage of Scotland which have a good record on deliveries and provide you with tracking information whilst googling "kilt"... For instance, if you buy a Mercedes for £200, don't expect it to be in excellent condition

By the way, the costs for the Small Claims Court in the UK is £70, just to chase £17 worth of 'kilt', which was the funny part. The money spent on court fees could have gone towards a decent PV kilt

I am sorry but I still do not see the joke or funny part here. Even if I bought "a £200 Mercedes" I would like to get that "piece of a junk" what I paid for.

I do not know how it is in UK but in Finland the "guilty one" would pay all the fees. All my kudos to the persons having the time, energy and guts to stop (or expose) this kind of scammers who benefit of other people and count on that the amount of money is too small to anyone to bother. Small creeks make big rivers, so do enough small frauds make a lot of illegal money if no one cares.

here in Arizona looser pays small court fees. the person bringing the suit must pay the costs up front and then they are added into his judgement if he wins, provided he asks for them. also the case can be dismissed up until the time both parties must appear, provided there is an acceptable resolution.

It costs a minimum of $75 to take someone to small claims court in this province. small claims are considered under $2000 I think.

In this context funny = "peculiar" not "haha" and, as has been said, it is peculiar because the cost would far outweigh the return. You could spend £17 in petrol and parking costs alone before you even get into the court.
If you are going to do it, do it in a kilt!
