    Xmarks dandelion

    Hello folks,

Just for your information for those of us who like to recognise each other Marie Curie cancer charity produce lovely silk lapel dandelions should you struggle to get one anywhere else. A small donation to them will get you one.

I'm sorry, I see daffodils but no dandelions.

    Is there a direct link?

Oh no I saw a dandelion on a lapel today. When I asked a colleague what it was they thought it was the Marie curie badge. A misunderstanding of flower and organisation on mine and his part. I was convince the badge was a dandelion and not a daff but only got a quick glimpse. Maybe the man in question was an xmarker!!!! A thread removal Steve?

The flower chosen by this charity as its emblem is indeed the daffodil.

Unfortunately no shortage of real ones in our neighbourhood.
If you are going to do it, do it in a kilt!

Withycombe Faire is my source for our dandelions. The story goes that a few years ago a movie company needed 15000 dandelions to set out in a field. It being November at the time they approached Withycombe Faire as there is no one had every made silk dandelions before.

The flowers were duly made and delivered. They were set out in the field and the camera rolled. Then all the flowers were gathered up and delivered back to Withycombe Faire whence they had come.

We have been lucky to acquire a good supply of these unemployed dandelions and I still have quite a few if members would like them.
For our members in the UK I suggest contacting Withycome Faire directly. The VAT is less than the shipping back and forth across oceans that these poor flowers have endured.

There is that one rumor (And I stress that it is rumor only) that during their last transatlantic crossing a few of the flowers gained access to the liquor cabinet on the plane and I am told it was not a pretty sight.

I'm interested in one, I sent a pm ages ago but never got a reply.

What is the cost to get a fine dandelion my way?
