    Proud Grandparent

Just got back home from attending the commencement ceremonies at Oregon State U. 5,878 graduates and my grandson was among the ten graduates rated by the University on academics (4.0 GPA from grade school through college) and contributions to the University community as the best of the best. Probably not, I am embarrassed to say, because of any genetic contribution by me! Now he will soon be off to London to study medicine at St Georges. I can easily use the reasoning that as long as we are in London for his med school graduation we might as well visit Scotland, right?!?
Studies have shown that women who gain a few pounds live longer than men who mention it.

Congratulations! You have every right to be proud of your grandson. That is quite an achievement.

And, it seems he may have indeed inherited from you the cold, steel-trap logic leading to the inescapable conclusion that "as long as we are in London ... we might as well visit Scotland." That's almost a theorem.
I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.

Congratulations to your grandson on his well earned success. And to you for having the good fortune to have a descendent who's providing you with an ironclad excuse for a great trip.

Definitely one to be proud of, and a good excuse to come to Scotland when you visit your grandson in London.
I've not got any grandchildren yet, that's something to look forward to in the future.
