New Site Launch
Hello folks. Please go to
http://www.xmarksthescot.com/test/
to see what the new site is going to look like.
I will leave the chat room since you guys like it an use it.
Please let me know if you have suggestions or anything. I especially like the fact that you can see what the recent uploaded public pics are. Now you dont have to wonder if any have been added.
I will leave the "Show Me Your Pics" section of the forum so that people can tell others when they have added new pics to their personal album.
I also added a bandwidth donation link. B/c of the crazy growing popularity of this site the bandwidth usage has almost quadruplied in the last 3 months. Help out if you can or if you want to. If not, whatever. It is by no means necessary.
I will probably be making the switch around 2:00 PM EST on Sunday the 20th barring any unforseen setbacks. If you are online during that time you may see some disruption. I also hope no one is in the middle of writing their thesis on the forum at that time b/c it may get deleted.
Thanks to you guys this site will grow and get bigger and better!
What thinks you, my noble kindred spirits?
Beannacht Dé,
Hank

Wow Hank you have been a busy lad. I do like the looks of it, and really appreciate seeing the new additions to the gallery look when first opened up. Also you made me midnful that it is not cheap to run a web site like this, so with the asking for a broadwidth fund donation, it will remind me to not take a free ride. Keep up the good work, you are a great man for the cause of kiltdom and sometimes we forget to thank you properly, so Thank You!

The best just keeps getting better! Way to go Hank. Clean look, seems easy to navigate, and the visuals on the opening page should be very appealing to prospective members who are checking the site out. Well done.

AC- I respect your opionin. (here comes the but...)
But, I still hold creative control of this forum. The donation goes towards keeping this site up and running, not to making sure freedom of expression is maintained. I dont ever want this to be a place where there is chaos and no control either. To be honest BB's are really easily hijacked (you know of one specifically) if the admin and moderators dont maintain control.
That being said, I let a lot of things slide into tangents and I let a lot of potentially heated threads go. But one thing we have seen is major political and religious topics get too heated. It isnt about being politically correct b/c I love to debate. In real life I will debate both politics and religion till you agree with me (jk). But this isnt the place for it. I maintain the right to lock, delete, or stop threads that threaten the collective.
Agree or disagree but that is the way it will be.
Beannacht Dé,
Hank
