Is this over priced?

I'm assuming it's PV all it says is "mixed fibres." Has anyone else bought one of these brands of kilt?

Hey, Mel. To my less than expert eye, I'd be concerned about the quality of the pleating. Follow the triple white stripe across the back and notice the "stairstep" effect-they're just not lining up dead even as would be expected in a hand sewn quilt. That mismatch can make the kilt hang poorly-one side may "ride up" higher than the other(relative to the hips). A little "off" from pleat to pleat can add up to an unsightly back across 4 yds of material. For benefit of the doubt, maybe it's a bad angle shot, but man, for that money, Caveat emptor.

Yes, you're right, I didn't check the rear view. Definately not worth the price.

Hi Guys!

Of course you can't expect a "8 yard wool swing" but as far as I know these kilts are handmade by - i guess it was- Simon Melville using Marton Mills polyviscose fabrics.
In any case bauhausboy is a serious address.

Bauhaus Boy / Melville Kilts is a reputable trader and manufacturer.

I have dealt with them before and think that this price is reasonable.

That was strange. I clicked on the link and will add it to my favourites. In answer to my question, the seller said it was 50% wool, 50% acrylic.
