    ancioent tartan- ID, please

This tartan jacket came to me a few years ago. Based on the lapels, I think it dates to the 1960s, but I am not sure.

The label says MOFFAT KILMAHOG Handloom Weavers Callander.

The colors are a beautiful duck egg blue, a rusty red and cinnamon brown, presumably an ancient or weathered version of some well known tartan.

The sett is huge, so much so that finding the entire thing on a man's jacket front is difficult

    Any ideas?

MacDonald in Weathered Colours. Notwithstanding the suggestion in the label this cloth is machine and not hand-woven.

Quite coincidentally, I have a kilt that I believe is also MacDonald.

This is odd, because I am not remotely connected to Clan MacDonald- I occasionally eat a McDonald's sausage biscuit, but that is as close as I get...

I would appreciate the continued help of the rabble, though.

    Isn't this more MacDonald?

The buttons on the inside say J Thomson & Son, Glasgow

No, not a MacDonald but MacIntyre from the Smith Brothers' 1850 publication.

Thanks- the light color is blue, not white, as it may appear. I have posted additional pictures in the For Sale forum.
