Still, he doesn't look too bad. But this is a Halloween costume.

Wait a darn minute. I can't add that to my list of tartans, (or can I?) Would I dare tell this crowd? Never mind!

I know I've told this story before, but for those who haven't heard it, here goes!

There was a guy taking bagpipe lessons from me, a short thin guy as it happened.

He was getting enthusiastic about playing the pipes and he wanted to get a kilt but was put off by the price.

So he's at Target and he spots a rack of tartan wool kilt skirts, made just like kilts with the leather straps and all, in authentic tartans, on sale for around $20. He starts trying them on and sure enough he finds one that fits him perfectly and he buys it. Score!

That night at the dinner table his wife (a regional manager for Target as it happens) says

"One of my store managers told me the strangest story today. She said some guy came in, went to the womens' department and started trying on dresses, and he bought one!"

    "Honey, that was ME."
