Two more kilts and a good story!

Two months since I bought my first kilt, and I'm up to four now. The other day I decided to visit my dad, who as it happened was at my grandmother's house. I wore one of my kilts so that he could see it and I thought that my grandmother might like it as well. They both liked it, though my grandmother commented on my lack of kilt hose. What really suprised me was then she asked my dad to go to her closet and bring back the kilt she had hanging up. I was wondering what kind of kilt she had and how she got it, when my dad came back with an old wool kilt in Mackenzie tartan. She then told me that she had bought it when she was visiting family in England and the reason she had bought it was because her father was a Mackenzie. She had tried to get my grandfather to wear it once but he refused and it's been hanging around ever since. She said that it was a men's kilt but I'm sure it's a ladies, it says it's a size 16 made by the Scotch House. She told me a few more stories while I was there, including after she asked what I was driving and I told her my Jeep, which is an old RHD postal jeep, and she told me to be careful driving it as she remembers being back home (England) and the US military men who weren't used to driving on the other side and would end up wrecking. To be honest, this is really the only time I can remember my grandmother talking about England. I'm glad I got to hear it. Anyways, back to kilts. I got very lucky and bought a fantastic kilt off of ebay. It's a McCalls made in Edinburgh in Napier tartan.

It is as used wool kilt, so it's not perfect. There are not any holes, but there are a few small stains. However, I'm so glad to have a quality wool kilt that It doesn't bother me at all. I've decided to wear it to the highland games coming up and my dad has decided to go to the games with me, in a kilt no less.
