Boots
I was wondering what your favourite boots were to wear with a kilt? Socks up or scrunched down.

Motorcycle boots. Both, depending on the occasion.
Got 'em on now, in fact, as I'm about to head to the Chesapeake Celtic Festival (Snow Hill, MD). Socks are up because it is cool and drizzly right now - but it's supposed to clear up and warm up - so the socks may be scrunched later on.

Hikers. Both, normally guided by if with my spouse who seems to think I'm trying to be radical if my socks scrunch

Mainly my Red Wing Brogue Rangers with traditional hose, up.
For hiking, hiking boots, socks at calf height, over the boots, since they are wool hiking socks, not kilt hose they aren't scrunched.

I've had only compliments when I wear these Rockport Union Hill wingtips with a kilt or jeans. Plus they are comfortable!

Hiking boots, Doc Martens, combat boots. Socks always scrunched down.

I take it that's because you ride a motorcycle though?

Nice boots, I sometimes wear "non regulation" socks if they are sscrunched down with boots.

Nice. I've got walking boots but they have a padded tongue and a higher profile in the front. Don't look so good.

They aren't "specifically" for bikers but do give needed ankle protection. They are a bit lighter than a Harley-knockoff pair I've got (and never wear) and are good for walking or when I'm out shooting photographs for a day.
