Kilted again at the US Sail Boat Show in Annapolis, MD

Again, this year, I wore a kilt to the United States Sail Boat Show in Annapolis, MD. My wife, Susan, and I have been attending this annual event for about 30 years now. I wore a kilt last year and found it such a positive experience that I decided to do it again this year.

We attended a work related event in Havre de Grace, MD the day before (also kilted) and stayed at the Spencer-Silver Mansion (1896) a High Victorian stone mansion that's now a bed and breakfast. Here we are in front of the mansion before we left for the boat show.

At the boat show, we visited the Hendrick's Gin tent to taste some samples of their excellent liquor. Hendrick's Gin is made in Scotland and though the folks working there wore various costumes, no one had a kilt on; that is until I arrived. A young lady who worked there wanted a picture with me so my wife obliged.

OK, one more picture. This is the Catalina sail boat display. My wife and I have an older Catalina sail boat that we sail on the Chesapeake Bay.

    Thank you,

Simon Fraser fought as MacShimidh, a Highland chief… wrapped and belted in a plaid over the top of his linen shirt, like his ordinary kinsmen. He put a bonnet on his head, and stuck the Fraser emblem, a sprig of yew, in it. With the battle cry, A'Chaisteal Dhunaidh and the scream of the pipes, they charged to battle.
