    Corsican tartan?

My boss's boss in intersted in buying a kilt but wants to know if there are any Corsican plaids. I've found mainland French plaids, but nothing for Corsica.

    Any advice for him guys?

I am not sure if there are any Corsican tartans. If one is not available and he is willing to go through the process, then perhaps he should design, weave and register a unique tartan which reflects Corsica. Naturally, one needs to have the patience and means to proceed.

I am sure the august members of this great forum may be able to offer better advice.

Stretching things a bit, it could be said that this has a Corsican connection.

I see Waterloo which was Napoleon's defeat, and Napoleon was Corsican or did I miss something?

Mods - can I suggest that this thread is moved to the Tartan Place where it more properly belongs.

Corsica being an island with some uniqueness of culture, might well "want" some sort of bureaucratic process of "design submission and approval" before "allowing" a tartan to represent the island.

Perhaps the person wishing the tartan would better serve themself by designing and registering a personal tartan, though then there is the "who is eligible to authorize a family (surname) tartan?"....
