Just joined, figured I'd introduce myself as suggested.
I got involved with the Scottish community here in Cincinnati when I joined the local pipe band in 1996. I've held a number of positions in the band, including Quarter Master, President, Business Manager, Drum Major and Piper. Also a member of the local Scottish club, Caledonian Society of Cincinnati, where I'm currently the Vice President. While I was Quarter Master for the band I was inspired to open Celtic Corner, to give those in the Cincinnati area a place to shop for Scottish Goods. I also married a Scottish Lass, and found that comes with a package deal that includes a Scottish mother-in-law...Which always makes for great holiday meals and she is an outstanding kilt maker (also a big reason for Celtic Corner)
I can often be found around town in my kilt and enjoy wearing it. I've also had the opportunity to give a number of talks on the kilt and its history, which everyone does find very interesting.
cheers,
