Finally got some pics of the two skirts I got at the Highland House of Fraser in Inverness while on vaca.

I wore the Dress Stewart today out and love the way it feels. Everyone who approached me did so in a 'OMG! Are you Scottish!' way. Very surprising and pleasant! Struck up a conversation with 2 ladies in Publix (groceries store).

**Edited the post to reflect the correct tartan to the correct skirt- thanks for the correction guys!

Very nice, especially like the red Royal Stewart. Think you have transposed titles and photos.

If you are going to do it, do it in a kilt!

Both look very nice, but I have to agree with tpa, the titles might be mixed. Thanks for sharing!

That is entirely possible! Is it the other way around? or not altogether? I am afraid I lost the information I have on them and Google has not been my friend. Any insight on to what I have?

Madame, you look very, very lovely in both. Dress Stewart has the white background; Royal Stewart (Queen Elizabeth II's personal tartan) has the bright red background, and is also a favorite of me and Della (my Bichon Frise):

Black Stewart and Hunting Stewart are also nice tartans, and the great thing about the Dress, Royal and Black versions is that they contain basically all of the primary colors, and therefore coordinate well with virtually all solid primary color accessories, as well as black and white.

The dress Stewart is the one with the white in it - most dress tartans have white in them.
The Royal Stewert is the red one.
I made myself a longer length kilt recently, by accident, I must confess. The one before was done in 48 inch wide fabric which I halved to get the usual 24inches - but then I took 60 inch wide fabric and made a kilt 30 inches long. It is just short enough for me to be able to walk up stairs without having to pick it up to prevent it being trodden on.
Are you, like me, also a sufferer from the Masefield disease? I used to sail a little yacht out of Portsmouth harbour, Hampshire to explore the harbours on the mainland and the Isle of Wight and go up and down the Solent. Happy days.
