Cannot upload any photos
Could be because I am still a new user, I am not sure. I am using Google Chrome.

Nope, It has nothing to do with being a new member. Other members are experiencing the same thing. Even I had a problem uploading some.
Where we think the problem lies is the new upgrade to windows or to Chrome and/or Firefox. Our software that allows members to upload photos direct from their computer is a fairly new feature here. In the past photos could only be uploaded to a vBulletin forum from some on-line source such as a website or one of the on-line photo hosting sites such as photobucket, flikr etc.
You can still upload from an on-line source without any problem.
Last year we found a plugin for vBulletin that allows photos to be uploaded direct from a members computer. This plugin may not be compatible with the newest versions of some operating systems and/or browsers.
We are looking into this issue. Once we find where the problem is we will let everyone know.
In the mean time, if you have a photobucket, or other on-line hosting account, please use that to upload your photos.
For a detailed tutorial on how to upload photos please see our FAQ's. http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/f...s_faq_pictures

Just upload your photos to a free hosting site like Photobucket.com, set the album to "Publicly Viewable", and post the IMG links here.
I always find this method preferable to uploading onto a forum site anyway. And as an Administrator elsewhere who has to deal with membership attachments daily, doubly so!

That's double work for users, kind of a usability no-no unless you really have no other way. Being able to embed directly is really a big plus. I don't want/need yet another account on yet another site...
Better to just fix the issue.

even taking one from "Your computer" can be a pain click this Icon (framed PICTURE) once there look for Basic Uploader Icon click That and then click and you'll need to 1st "chose your FILE" then>Upload on your computer (what you computer uses as a file to download TO might be differant too... Chrome makes these things 2 times Harder it seems Ugh

I'd hardly describe it as a great onus. Suit yourself.

A major advert company, will not want their "IT" people to, admit that having photos go through a third party server-distributer, (which may give said photos, a public domain status for their own or public use without the originator's permission) is the underlying issue to cost effectiveness. That is just the economics. The demons of the internet are dollars. Even X-Marks the Scot, cost money to maintain.
