Kilts and the Three Stooges
This past weekend, I watched an old Three Stooges short (I think from 1941). The story line was that they were in Scotland and pretending to be Scots in order to get a job protecting an earl's property in a castle. I tried to look closely at the kilts. First the fly plaid was wrapped completely around their torsos. I was not sure if that was the norm back then. But, one thing that did stand out was that there were pleats entirely around the kilts themselves. Even earl's kilt was the same.
I know that the film was playing everything for laughs, and I did laugh, but I thought the studio would have gotten the kilt correct. Guess not.
It was still interesting to watch.
Have a good week, everyone.
