What has gone wrong? I can neither edit nor upload photos from Photobucket.

I created a new post. I could not upload photos from Photobucket using the usual links. Using the "Direct" link it posted a small photo as I was creating the post, but when I submitted it It just put in the link. When I attempted to edit it the edit screen comes up blank - no text shown at all.

Normally when I upload from Photobucket I use the "IMG" link but both that, the "HTML" and the "Email & IM" links report: "error: Invalid File". The "Direct" links do work to the extent that clicking on them brings up the picture, but previously Photobucket pictures have shown in the post.

I have tried using a different browser, a different computer and re-booting but the scenario does not change.

Here is a test of inserting a photo from photobucket.

Um, seems to be working fine.

Steve, I have just remembered your post to Barb about copying the post into a word doc and then pasting into the blank space and that works for the text, but I tried putting the links in there and it just prints them out as links, so nothing gained and there is obviously still a problem with editing.

Below are the links to one of the photos I tried to input from Photobucket without any success:

    <a href="http://s1193.photobucket.com/user/tpaworld/media/Xmarks/IsleofSkye5-2.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1193.photobucket.com/albums/aa344/tpaworld/Xmarks/IsleofSkye5-2.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo IsleofSkye5-2.jpg"/></a>

    http://s1193.photobucket.com/user/tp...ye5-2.jpg.html

and here is the one which generated the clickable link: http://i1193.photobucket.com/albums/...eofSkye5-2.jpg

by posting it using the "Insert Image" icon Thus: Click image for larger version.

Name:	IsleofSkye5-2.jpg
Views:	3
Size:	198.0 KB
ID:	24036 The format is identical to that which your photo shows using "Copy image location", but the result is different.

PS: Oh dear, now one link appears to be working, I just need to work out which one. Even the edit function has started working again - just what is going on?

As you can see, simply copying and pasting the IMG link to your Photobucket photo in your album works just fine for me:

Guys, I don't know whether I'm just having a senior moment or something has changed. If I simply copy the IMG link in, the picture appears; if I copy it in using the "Insert Image" icon, URL option - it does not allow it. Now I'll go back to the post and try the former method.

Only now it won't let me edit it again in the conventional manner, whereas this post does!

When inserting the IMG tagged link, you don't want to utilize the Insert Image tool on your forum board post/thread editing panel, or it will create unwanted duplicate tags.

Make sure you go to the GO ADVANCED editing menu, or some features may not be available when editing a post etc.

    Thanks for your help.

Go advanced or not it made no difference except if I was allowed to directly edit the post - that is when putting the IMG link straight in worked.

In the original post which has now reverted to offering me a blank edit screen, copying in from MS Word did not work, but copying from Wordpad did, so that is what I have done and the images are no showing. However some thing has changed, but it seems to be inconsistent. I would assume it was related to my computer, except that it seems Barb experienced the same issue.

Had problems with photobucket too....won't load for me....maybe my album is too big...pics don't come up for me to choose from. Maybe its the Windows 8 on my new laptop....just keep trying and eventually it loads...but at off times of the day - so maybe it is the album size.

Ron, I've been having lots of trouble with PB as well, on a Win7 machine. Photos just won't upload, I come back an hour later and just cancel. But it's working great for me on iPad so go figure.
