-23C and still wearing my kilts
That is correct, it's a minus 23 C and I'm still wearing my kilts. I figure that kilts are a 'way of life', an integral part of who I am.
Last week at the gym's front desk some body builder pointed at me and loudly said "is that old fart wearing a skirt?" My reply was "It's a kilt and only a sissy wears pants!" which of course he was wearing. Not particularly smart perhaps, but needed saying anyways.
I spent many years overseas. I am now back in Canada for keeps, am retired and intend on spending my remaining years canoeing, sea kayaking and winter camping. I've canoed from the Arctic to the Everglades and loving it! The only time that I wear pants under my camping kilts is when the bugs are bad - like everywhere in the Arctic. I need to start searching for a canvas utility kilt as my camping acrylic kilts are taking a beating.
I'm McLennan, Johnston, Duncan so I have a good number of potential tartans - once I can afford them of course. Right now my good House of Edgar wool kilt is McLennan. I'm now saving for a Johnston tartan.
I've spent some time cruising around this site, so it was time to join up.
