Local Robbie Burnstein supper
This am on tv my wife noticed a short news clip on a local "Burnstein" dinner. It is a charity fundraiser for the local Jewish community. Kosher haggis is prepared. It is too bad the local rental outfit didn't do a better job of translating instructions from Gaelic to Hebrew.

Poor Rabbi has his kilt on backwards. Nice idea though!

Good guys, but I do wonder why that backwards thing happens as often as it does. Love the kippot though!

I'm concerned the jacket and kilt will absorb the grease odors and stains from cooking. His attire without a full kitchen apron seems strange. He must have a great dry cleaner available.

It is weird, but I guess if you don't know and there's no one to tell you, then you have a 50% chance?
Still, you'd think people might at least do an internet search if they weren't sure?
And Oooohhhhh!!! garters on the outside of the hose..... Awwww.... Bless his heart!!!!!

Bless his heart indeed.
We were just involved in a Burns dinner fund raiser, and two of the organizers were woefully ignorant of how to wear the kilt and the accessories AND BOTH THEIR MOTHER'S WERE FROM SCOTLAND. Poor parenting, I say.

Just because you are paranoid doesn't mean they aren't out to get you.

I wonder why so many backwards kilts are coming from the rental market? It seems to me that if you rent a kilt the rental place should give you some kind of instructions.

I wonder if it's a sense of instinctual logic. Not knowing any better, you might think to yourself: Well if you wear it pleat-side back, then you'd always be messing up the pleats. Surely the smooth, flat portion is the part you sit on...
But I agree -- it's odd that a kilt hire shop wouldn't give customers a quick primer on how to put everything on properly, or if for no other reason, have them try it on for proper fit, which would reveal the error, I would think.

In my experience, rental places never do much explanation of how a thing is worn properly, and even outside of kilts, I've seen quite a few people unsure of how things are supposed to be worn. Granted, it's mostly little things like bow ties and wing collars.
