    THCD everyday for inspiration?

I can't really seem to find any good ideas, I want something that will make people stop and ask me how Scotland is this time o' year, while remaining cool in the heat of Louisiana summer.

They will more likely ask you, "What do you wear underneath your kilt?", "Do you play the bagpipes?", or "Are you from Scotland?". Then you can tell them how Scotland is this time o' year.
I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.

I wear light colors in summer. Usually a light color western snap up shirt. That avoids the bagpipe question but still gets the " Are you Scottish? " or " What clan are you with?" The general public tends to sees THCD as a piping costume only - too often.

Pants is only a present tense verb here. I once panted, but it's all cool now.

I can not help you much on warm weather inspiration, but for some good THCD ideas, Check CMcG's (from here on Xmarks) pinterest pages... https://www.pinterest.com/colinpmcguire/

I also have a board with a lot of vintage images etc. here... https://www.pinterest.com/Phineas037...s-and-tartans/

Also, look over past posts on this forum... a lot of good stuff from some great gents on THCD

You're wearing a kilt. Folks are going to make an association with Scotland!

I just take off my tie, jacket, and belt and roll my sleeves if the weather is warm but tolerable:

If it's really hot I usually wear lighter weight kilt hose and casual loafers (LL Bean camp mocs), skip the flashes, sgian dubh, and belt, and wear an open collar shirt with my shirt sleeves rolled up. I wear one of my simpler leather daywear sporrans.

David, has good advice above. You could even wear a linen or cotton waistcoat with little additional warmth. I have seen some in a nice herringbone that almost appear as a tweed.

Here was a waistcoat I got on clearance that is a linen cotton mix, IIRC, and is a nice herringbone. It is lightweight and cool. Pardon some of the other fashion sense in the image... I have progressed a bit in THCD since this photo was taken.

There are some good examples of warm weather options like the one David Pope described here:

I think you'll get to the point where a kilt worn daily will bring inquires from other folks. Save the full regalia for special moments. Then the question from them will be, "what's the special occasion?" Consider the climate wardrobe with one difference, Kilted not pants.

All of these questions you people propose are from basically intelligent people at the least. Here in the joyous town of shreveport, I get the ghetto, uneducated people asking, "Ay bo! Why you wea'in' a skirt, you gay or summin bo!?" And the rest is just pitiful, as the kids say, "cracking."
