The Jarls of Lochlann- Home of the Kaber Kilt
This just showed up on the Utilikilts list. Pardon me if this site has been mentioned before:

Interesting detachable apron on a few of the models. I haven't seen that before. Is it a useful feature, necessarily??

Thanks for the link Mychael. Miah, you may be you may be interested to know that they carry a few Us military tartans in the A' Sgeadachadh model. Maybe you don't have to wait too long for your desired tartan.

Wow yeah there is a decent one there for about 200 that is kinda a casual style with wide pleats and all. the 400+ dollar kilt is just a little out of my reach.

That's funny! It means "clothing".
In any case, that's a site and a company that could really take-off if they're ever advertised. The "Ladies" model is VERY unique and much needed! Pricing is good. If you look at the graphics and all, you can tell what's behind this venture.
I like the unique patterns and the original approach to these babies! It's nice to see someone (much like Bear's patterns) come up with something that's entirely different for those who are on the fence.
Until I see their products... I'll give them one big thumbs-up.

I like the Idea of using the box pleats, it is pretty cool. and the privacy pleat is an AWSOME idea.

I like women wearing kilt-like garments, and I'm surprised that there are not more companies with product aimed at women, thats over 50% of the worlds population that they are ignoring as customers!

Box pleats sound cool, but I wonder if they are a bugger to iron since they do not nest in the fashion of knife pleats. Not many kilt makers offer box pleats, and when they do they tend to charge plenty extra.
I don't really understand the privacy pleat at all from the info on the website. Can anyone explain how it works?
By the way, I did email the kilt-maker with a few questions about the removeable apron. He claims to have something afoot where this is concerned and will do the unveiling soon.

As a guess, it might be a pleat in the under apron that falls between your legs when you sit.
