Confusion
Twice today while wearing my kilt I was asked if it was German. I think people realize that the kilt is somewhat out of the ordinary and say the first thing that comes into their mind without really thinking. Nevertheless very good day.

once in a supermarket parking lot in Albuquerque a drunken panhandler came running up to me (kilted) shouting, "Hey Switzerland!"

That's still better than being asked if I'm an Italian for wearing a kilt.

Most recently I was asked "what clan is that" which shows some knowledge. The part that hung me up is that I had on a denim Utilikilt.

Pants is only a present tense verb here. I once panted, but it's all cool now.

That's probably me - I have Jewish and Scottish heritage. I always called it "Clan "MacGoldberg".
Actually, the RCMP sergeant in this area for years was/is Sgt. Moshe Gordon. Red wavy hair, freckles, and a big honking Jewish nose. One might roll one's eyes when I say that he was in charge of counterfeiting, fraud, and other financial crimes. Can anyone say "stereotype"?

Another ScotJew here, Scotclans lists the almost exclusively Jewish name Levy as a sept of Stewart!
