    A special Balmoral

Here's a very loud and goofy balmoral I made for an elderly gentleman who is intellectually disabled and blind.
The colours are what was left over from other bonnets and it's bright so it won't get lost at his home. The cockade is totally over-the-top and large along with an old pendant sewn on, as a pinned badge would be unsafe.
He thought it was great fun and kept touching and feeling all the different bits of the bonnet for sensory input. Then had a great time adjusting the angle of it on his head (I think 'Jocking' it would be a bit much for the old boy.

A special gift for an obvious special gent. He will attract attention with such a great cap. I hope the best for his future wearing. If he is pleased, your job was a gift that makes memories worth having.

Very well done! I hope you had as much fun making it as he will no doubt have wearing it!

And if a colourful Balmoral is not a bit of whimsy...

...amidst a sea of "dork hats" (Aussie for baseball caps, "because people look like dorks wearing them")...

    ...what is?

May he wear your kind gift with joy.
