    Short sporran chains/belt

    Good Morning,

Does anyone have a recommendation for a shorter sporran chain or other option that doesn't involve a belt and hangers? A sporran hanging halfway down the kilt is a wee bit low.

With it being a chain, can you not remove some links and re-connect?

Perhaps a photo would help us to respond - plus a real closeup of the chain.

I removed the D-ring strap from my sporran and then picked up a narrow women's belt of appropriate length, slip it through the sporran and buckle in back, looks great and being a goodwill purchase was dirt cheap

Thanks guys! I hadn't thought of cutting out links in the chain. The small belt idea is also good.

To be quite honest, having used both a chain and a strap, I'll never wear a chain again - the strap is so much more convenient!

If you choose to use one, make sure that the dye isn't a sort that will transfer to your kilt, and that the edges are well and firmly rounded to prevent chafing.
