Colorado Plateau Weather Window
Here in the high plateau country of Arizona (5600ft), this time of year it is usually cold and windy with rain and snow coming at intervals. But over the last couple weeks it has been downright wonderful weather wise; temperatures in the high 60s. So I been wearing my kilts whenever I get the chance, mainly my UT Kilts Black Watch utility kilt. Today my wife and I went on a short hike near Show Low, AZ and of course I went kilted. Attached is a photo of my wife Elsa and I and her lady friend Mirsa, the one in pink. Great day for a walk and no one on the trail seemed to notice my kilt much. However, just after eating lunch at Denny's I heard someone from the kitchen area whistle as I walked by. Hmmm... not sure it was directed my way, but I would put it in the likely category.
Later on, Elsa and I went on another of our walks in the neigborhood, a little over a mile. A beat up car full of teenagers drove by and someone hollered something about Irish or Ireland or something... Why is it always a beat up vehicle with teenage types that hollers comments that I can never understand what they are saying?
Later on during that walk we came upon a new neighbor, a burly character working on his vehicle. When he saw us he said, "Is that a KILT?" I told him it sure was. I told him it takes a little nerve to wear one out and about, but he replied that if he had one he would wear the thing out wearing it. I told him he could get them fairly inexpensively, and gave him one of Brice's business cards to UT Kilts. I always carry some of those in my kilt pocket just in case; and have already given several away, along with a Gospel tract with each. So that was cool. Maybe, just maybe I won't be the only one in town wearing a kilt...
So been taking advantage of this window of opportunity, weather wise...
