Is there a way to go to the first unread post in a thread?

How do you guys navigate here? I've not quite figured it out yet. Clicking 'View New' always shows no messages ....

Are you coming in from the front page?

Some of us had problems with the view new messages feature when Hank added the home page. I have just reset my link to http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/ in my favourites file.

There is no arrow to take you to the most recent message. That was a cool feature at Tom's, but I find that the messages here are quite as difficult to navigate around as that site.

Here's what I do:

• 1. Log in, using the link near the top of the window
  
  2. After you log in, the links at the top of the Forum Index window should change, and you should see something like:
  
  (on the left side: )
  You last visited on Fri Aug 27, 2004 2:07 pm
  The time now is Fri Aug 27, 2004 4:50 pm
  Forum Index
  
  (on the right side: )
  View posts since last visit
  View your posts
  View unanswered posts
  

You may want to note the "You last visited" time -- I've noticed a few times when my home response time is slow that somehow my access to the site resets itself, and I may lose some of the items I haven't looked at yet.

Others may be able to articulate this better than I . . .

When you get to the page of new posts as above, there is a small arrow pointing to a page icon to the left of the thread title. Click on this and it will take you direct to tmost recent 'unread' post in that thread.
