    Help identifying and ordering tartan

    Hi,

I'm trying to identify this tartan in order to order some fabric carrying the design. Does anyone either recognize it or know how I'd get it identified? Where can I get some fabric?

    The Tartan is Cockburn.

It appears to be a Weathered or Reproduction color variant.

I do not see this color variant listed on any weavers stock fabric list.

Can you tell us a little bit more about where you got this image.

A female Scottish acquaintance of mine was wearing it as a skirt and claimed it was their family's tartan. I took the photograph myself, but for some reason the forum turned the image on its side. Its more clearly a skirt if you turn the image the right way around. I spent hours trying to find a match - but failed.

With your help (thanks) I've found it as "Cockburn Muted" here: http://www.heritageofscotland.com/clan/cockburn/201
It looks like it costs £28.68 per meter. Is that a good price?

    Thanks
    Andrew.

Please note that this price is for 10oz light weight fabric. Most would consider this to be too light for a kilt. 10oz fabric is usually used for ties, vests and other accessories.

Kilts are usually made from 13oz or 16oz fabrics.
