5 yd PV vs. 8 yd PV?

I know I will always prefer quality heavyweight wool kilts over anything else, but I can think of so many scenarios where it would be good to have a PV kilt on hand. My question is for those who have experience wearing both 5 yard and 8 yard PV kilts. Physically I have an average to small frame so a 5 yard kilt on me is likely to be close to 5 yards and not 6 or 7 yards. I'm assuming that an 8 yard PV would hang better and perhaps swing better than a 5 yard PV even though it would be significantly lighter than a heavyweight wool kilt. My source for an 8 yard PV kilt would likely be Scotweb where I can currently order an 8 yard PV (Marton Mills) kilt for $230 which is only about $10 more than a 5 yard PV kilt from USA Kilts. Yes, the cost of shipping will be more coming from the UK, but if an 8 yard PV kilt hangs, swings, and looks better than a 5 yard PV kilt than I think it would be worth it. I'd love to hear some opinions from those of you who have compared 5 yard and 8 yard PV kilts and I would really like to see some photos if you have any.

Admittedly, I don't have both. But, my PV from Freedom Kilts fits well and looks very good.

The two kilts I have are so different in weight and material that I can't compare them with equal footing. My 5 yd. PV is a box pleat. My 5 yd. 11 oz. wool is a knife pleat. It's night and day with the way they feel, hang on my body, etc.
I wonder now if the 8 yd. PV would behave like my 5 yd. wool.

    5 vs 8

I don't have any 5 yd PV kilts, but I do own several quality 8 yd PV kilts which I enjoy very much. The 5 yd kilts may be cooler in the Summer heat, but I have not noticed the 8's being too hot to wear on our 90 deg days. The 8 yd PV kilts wear very well, hold their pleats, have proven to be very durable and easy to clean. For an everyday kilt I find them hard to beat.
