    Hiking kilt in Europe

Hey guys! I currently have my utilikilt, but it's too heavy for hiking use in fair weather. I've looked at the sport kilt hiking model, but importing to Europe would likely make it quite expensive.

Do you have any ideas for a hiking kilt that is not too expensive, and can be bought in Europe? Lightweight and breathable, and quick drying are the main things.

Heritage of Scotland has some Polyviscose kilts, but I'm not sure if they're worthwhile?
The name lightweight party kilt doesn't inspire much, v but for all I know it could be great for my purposes.

    Any input from the experts?

Have a look at http://www.kilts.org for utility kilts in the UK or you could try Glenisla in Scotland and specify Marton Mills PV.

If you are going to do it, do it in a kilt!

For a lightweight casual hiking kilt available in Europe you could try Union Kilts from North Wales. Though I should point out that most if not all of their kilts are actually constructed for them in Pakistan, so although they can be bought here in Europe they are not a European product.

It seems that union kilts don't really have any in a suitable fabric at the moment.

Glenisla would be bespoke? I'm thinking that will go above budget.

I'll browse around a bit more.

You would be looking at around £100-£130 I believe.
If you are going to do it, do it in a kilt!

If you can find one, the 5.11 Tacti-Kilt is my suggestion. I have one myself and it's fantastic. It's made from Ripstop material (the material they made the old BDU military issue uniforms from), which is incredibly lightweight and quick drying. I had mine shortened a tad but other then that it's served it's purpose fantastically.
