    Irn Bru... Irnestly

Couldn't decide if this went in here or in humor. It does have to do with a beverage. (Really, you could say it has to do with 2 beverages ....)

All of irn bru commericals are funny.

Pretty good drink too if you can get your hands on the real thing. Why does the FDA hate Scottland and take it out on us?

    Canada has Irn Bru

When in Scotland we always grab a case of Irn Bru and keep it in our accommodations. We were told it is available in Canada but cannot be imported to the US as Irn Bru contains secret ingredients which they will not reveal, thus earning the displeasure of the US government. I thought Coca-Cola had secret ingredients so I am confused as regards the veracity of the story and/or the reason to allow one and not the other. Perhaps because it is an import.

We enjoy Irn Bru and upon returning to the US by ship we brought back an 8-pak in our carry-all. I kept my last bottle for several months and then decided it was better to drink it than have it age out. If you visit the UK &/or Scotland, buy it and try it. It is a nice drink for those times when imbibing a single malt is not the best choice (a rare event, most would say). Also, for another treat, try Cogburns Haggis. Had it in Drumnadrochit, in the pub. Very good.

    Best regards, Ryc

There is something in it the FDA doesn't like. I used to know but have long forgotten. You can also find a US version of it and it "works" but if you have ever had the real thing you can taste a slight difference.

And it can be snuck over
