Piper painting worth £10,000 stolen in 'targeted theft'
Somewhat obsure link but it is a kilt and it is in the media - Piper painting worth £10,000 stolen in 'targeted theft'.
Not something that could easily be sold so hopefully the owner will get it back undamaged. I'd not previously seen this portrait and have no idea who the Piper to the 2nd Marquess of Breadalbane was but he appears to be wearing the Breadalbane Fencibles' tartan.

Piper painting worth a lot made me think of the Monarch of the Glen episode with "The Proud Piper."

As a 'targeted' theft it is now already lodged in the home of the new owner, who arranged for the theft, I am sure. Obviously it was insured but sad for the old owner to lose such a work. I wonder how it came to leave the hands of Breadalbane in the first place?
