So wish I could make the ride over on the Coho, but not able to do so this weekend. Enjoy his visit!

Yes I can see it now. Red carpet, pipe band, a troop of buglers for the fan fair, podium for the speeches, banquet laid on, best vintage champagne of course, hordes of police drafted in from all over North America for crowd control, medical crews on standby for the influx of swooning females, the great and the good lurking in the background in case there is an slim chance for a photo opportunity with the two Great Men, the world press and TV will be on hand, ears tuned in for any snippet of kilt news. Alledgedly there was even talk of a 29 gun salute, but when someone mentioned rule 11 to the Battery Commander that idea was ditched. Oh yes, Canada will have seen nothing like this!
What does one wear to this sort of occasion, I wonder? Surely not white hose, flat caps, or those dreadful ghillie brogues? No that really would not do, full morning dress in kilt equivalent for sure. NO shoulder plaids or crommachs though. A bonnet? Hummm, have we a reliable weather report yet? Oh silly me, Bill is in contact with head office so the weather will be perfect. So no need for the bonnets. Yes indeed you will be a lucky person to attend.
Am I jealous? No! Not me! ---------well alright, just a wee tad----------well OK, just a wee bit more than a wee tad---------------more like quite a bit!
Have a great time everyone!
Now if I am still a member of this website by 2000Hrs tonight, I may have just got away with this?

Well cited, Jock, but I believe your program omitted the Snowbirds fly-over and the Musical Ride by the RCMP Mounted Troop.
As well, I believe Tim Hortons will have tartan doughnuts available nationwide on the day, frosted to the sett of course.

FB, take advantage of the fact that Steve is a docent and tour the BC Museum with him. Many 'Scots on the coast' in the Province's history are included, but watch for the myths, misunderstandings and confused fact woven into tales of adventure, entrepreneurship and great leadership. Look also at the ongoing role First Nations folk (many also of Scots ancestry) have had and are having in British Columbia. Wish I could be with you.
