The Scottish Clans & Their Tartans - 1951 edition

My wife picked this up from one of her antique dealer friends. It's not a rare book by any means, but it's a cute little thing.

It has brief information on the clans along with illustrations of their tartans, but to me the most interesting part of the book are the advertisements. A few are shown below.

I too love the old advertisements. They give an interesting look into the fashion of the time and how advertising has changed (or stayed the same) over the years.

For me, the best of both worlds. One, I have a small collection of old books. Earliest, the Physician's Pocket Guide to Medicine, printed 1893 (Diabetics instructed to wear flannel, & not to eat lettuce......no wonder the lifespan wasn't so good!). The other reason is due to the attempted profession. Old adverts, & graphics are something I collect with interest. Contemplating a purchase, found several copies here in the US.
