    Philadelphia - October 13 and 22

There are two grand opportunities for the "locals" to wear the kilts in Philly in October. I already know that the turn-outs will be attended by others not on this board... so the kilts WILL be there.

Wednesday October 13th at Finnigan's Wake.
Friday October 22nd at Finnigan's Wake.

New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Maryland are within a shot! Drop and and let's tip a few to XMarks!

Finnigan's Wake is located at 3rd and Spring Garden in Philadelphia. It's known as the city's premier party location for bridal parties... so there's PLENTY of "entertainment" for anyone wearing a kilt!

The 13th is still the shoot for the video, correct? Are we to assume that it's happening in the middle of an actual show? Or will we be blessed with hearing the same song over and over and over?

Either way, I'm dragging a co-worker along and my other Kilted friend would like to go, but it's his wife's birthday. He needs to convince her that it's a show and not multiple renditions of the same song. At least not for the whole night.

We will be performing three straight hours of our bagpipe rendition of Ina Gadda Davida.

It's all video of our concert antics and songs. Basically, we have the main floor of Finnigan's Wake to our own desires! It will be a Barleyjuice gig with friendly faces. To this point, I've already counted 14 kilts... and surely there will be more.

Oh yah... and there's Guinness and Smithwick's, along with the normal libations.

We're actually more flexible than that. In time, we might just break into a rendition of "Mandy" or "Iron Man" depending on the mood.

For those new to Barleyjuice... that IS a joke.

The entire evening will be a "normal" gig, with kilts, bagpipes, mandolins, fiddles, and plenty of drinks.

I even coaxed a load of Applebee's waitresses to come out. This could be REAL fun (if I wasn't on stage).

You should really work on Mandy. That's my wife's name and she was named after the song. *hint hint*

Hal... it would be GREAT to see and meet you! Parking is a snap on the weekdays. Just stay on Spring Garden, or hit one of the side streets. It's very safe down there due to the traffic. Been there a ton of times and NEVER had any problems.

No cover for this thing since it's OUR bar that night. Sure the public can come on in with our invited guests, so it's open bar night! You'll se plenty of kilts there!

Can't say I have ever been a big fan of bag pipes and while I like amazing grace I don't like it on bag pipes but that may be because it's been played a lot in the last couple years.

I would like to hear the Navy Hymn ( Eternal Father ) and Anchors Aweigh played on it sometime to see how that sounds.

I am too far from Philly to join in on this event..

Are you a navy veteran, JohnAllen? I was in and served in the Destroyer navy from "66 through Feb of '70. I have always loved the Navy Hymn, the original as well as all of the verses which were added later. about Navy aviators and such

I edited this, because like a dummie, I didn't read your signature. Sorry, I'll get it right from now on.
